A View from the Top

Here is a picture that was taken of a farming villiage in the outskirts of Taipei from on top of a hill. Quite a view, indeed!  This was taken during my trip...

Changed Servers

OK, I didn’t like the Windows server that I was using. For one, I couldn’t use the automatic upgrades for either the plugins or WP itself. My guess is that was because the permissions are set differently.
So, the site is now back to using a Linux box. Just like I like it.
So [...]

New Server

On a website I’ve developed, The Woodburner, I had to change it over to a new server this past weekend.  I was on a VPS, which was getting kind of expensive.  The problem was that it froze up a lot more than I thought it should.
So, I got a small dedicated server from Go Daddy.  [...]

Interesting Stuff!

Running e107 as a multi-user platform. WordPress MU already has this capability, so why not other cms platforms.

Changed Servers

Well, I’ve moved this site to a different server. I’m now with Go-Daddy, running on a Windows server. It’s OK, but when this account runs out, I’m changing to a Linux server – I’ve always run on Linux boxes, and am used to the way they do things. And I think they [...]

WP Upgrade

What I do want to say, though, is that WP is the easiest piece of software I’ve ever had the pleasure of upgrading. It’s quick, and very seldom have I had a problem afterwards. In general, WP works very well.

Digsby!!

An addition that I recently made to this site is the Digsby IM.  It’s on the bottom of the right column.
I started using Digsby on my computer as the controller for all of my IMs.  Rather than having one for MSN, another for Yahoo, another for ICQ, etc, I now use Digsby as the IM [...]

Options 1.3 Theme Update

OK, so I didn’t give up – it’s not in my nature
I found that my problem lied in the theme settings for the home page.  Setting it to the Features Gallery was good, but what happened was that the definition of the Features Gallery (further down the settings page) was not correct.  I [...]

Upgraded WP 2.6.1 and Theme Options 1.3

Hello All!!
I had the Features Gallery at this place on the page at one time. However, once I ‘upgraded’ to the latest WP 2.6.1, and updated to the latest version of the theme (Options 1.3), the Features Gallery stopped working. I’ve spent much time checking and double-checking everything, but I just cannot get [...]

Updated WordPress to 2.6

Since the first beta came out for Word Press 2.6, I’ve been updating the website to determine the difficulty in upgrading.  In total, I performed 5 ‘upgrades’ to get to the released version.  What’s great is that the released WP 2.6 was a month early!!  The Word Press team is amazing.
Anyway, the reason I mentioned [...]

Spring 2008

Here are some photos of our yard that I took this spring, in May. It’s amazing that we can have such a wide variety of color in the desert!
The only ones that are not blooming now are the flowers on the Hummingbird vines on the latticework around the patio.
All of these plants were selected because [...]
